Personal Contract Hire (PCH) - commonly known as car leasing - is a popular way for individuals to drive a brand-new vehicle without the costs or risks of ownership.

You agree to a fixed-term contract (typically 2 to 5 years) with a set annual mileage allowance and make fixed monthly payments. Once the contract ends, you simply return the vehicle — no need to worry about resale value or settlement figures.

It’s essentially a long-term rental where you pay for the car’s depreciation, not its full value. The finance company takes on the risk of how much the car is worth at the end (its "residual value"), so you’re protected if the used car market drops.

PCH is a use-only agreement - you won’t own the car, and there’s usually no option to buy it at the end.

Wear & Tear Standards
Vehicles must be returned in line with BVRLA fair wear and tear guidelines. Damage beyond normal use could result in charges.

Fixed Contract Duration
You’re committed for the agreed term. Early termination is possible, but usually involves a charge - typically 50% of remaining rentals. Be sure to plan ahead before your contract ends.
